3.23 以上的版本才能執行與安裝。關於 PHP，我們建議使用最新的正式釋出新版來安裝 PHP4 4.4.0 或是 PHP5 
5.1.0。<a href="http://www.apache.org">Apache</a> 是我們比較建議的網頁伺服器，但是 LifeType 基本上應該可以在
任何可以執行 PHP 的網頁伺服器上面來安裝與執行。（包含 Microsoft IIS 網頁伺服器）</p>

<p>LifeType 是在 Linux 與 Mac 上所開發出來的，但這並不代表他只能安裝在 Linux。只要能執行 PHP 的環境，如 Microsoft Windows（包含 Apache 與 Microsoft IIS），都可以安裝與執行 LifeType。</p>

<p>如果你預備使用像是自訂網址的功能，你必須要透過 Apache 的 ForceType 功能才有辦法來執行。

Subversion 是一個免費的程式碼版本管控系統，它的客戶端程式幾乎支援所有的作業系統。在 Linux 與 Mac OS X
系統，你可以安裝預設的命令列程式 <b>svn</b>。請用 rpm 或 apt-get 來安裝 Linux 的 svn 套件，或是用
fink 來安裝 Mac OS X 的 svn 套件，而 BSD 系統則可以用 ports svn 來安裝套件。至於 Windows 的用戶，你可以使用

<li><b>tags</b>：當新版 release 時候，我們會在 tags 建立一個標籤，用來存放這一個釋出的版本。為什麼樣這樣呢？因為有了標籤的協助，我們可以容易取回任何一個 LifeType 開發團隊所釋出的版本。 </li>

LifeType 的目標是要創造一個穩定且支援多使用者與多 Blog 的平台，透過 Blog 來強化網路社群的運作與交流。

<h4>歷史</h4>

LifeType 是在 2003 年 2 月由專案創始人 Oscar Renalias 所建立的，他原來建立這個專案的目的只是因為他需要一個簡單的環境能來管理他自己的網站。
在那時候其實他並不知道什麼是 Blog，但是初期的專案其實已經具備有 Blog 的雛形了。幾個禮拜後，另一個共同專案創始人 Francesc，建議乾脆以這樣的基礎來建立一個
多使用者與多 Blog 的平台。看起來似乎是個不錯的想法，所以幾個月後就在 2003 年 9 月 2 日釋出了 pLog 0.1 版。當初的一些功能，目前都還是留在
 LifeType 專案的核心當中，例如多使用者、多 Blog 的管理、模版引擎、多國語系的支援以及透過外掛程式來擴充新功能。

pLog 0.2 版在 2003 年 11 月 9 日釋出後，新增加了簡潔網址的功能，在系統的速度上也做了一些提升，外掛程式的架構也
做了一些改良。另外，後台管理介面也做了一些改進。這個時候，pLog 開始受到一些社群使用者的注意，到 2004 年 3 月釋出
pLog 0.3 版的時候，受到很多 Blog 社群使用者的喜愛，它還是目前 pLog/LifeType 下載人數最多的版本之一。pLog 0.3 版加
入了一個新的概念『檔案中心』為 LifeType 新增多媒體檔案管理的功能，並且讓使用者可以在文章上直接使用這些
多媒體檔案。同時，也新增了多時區、內建 RSS 解析器與貝氏過濾等新的功能。

目前最新的版本是 LifeType 1.0.2，這是 1.0.x 系列的最新版，主要是在程式臭蟲的修復。pLog 1.0 版是在 2005 年 4 月 1 日釋出，
這是經歷開發最久的一個版本，也是目前最完美的一個版本。儘管他的下載次數沒有 pLog 0.3.2 版來的多，但是大部分的 Blog 的社群
已經開始使用這個版本來架設他們自己的社群。

<h4>LifeType 與 pLog 的關係</h4>

Amazon 其實在 2003 年初已經在美國註冊了『Plog』這個商標，他甚至比 SourceForce 上的『pLog 專案』出現的早。所以在 2005 年中
Amazon 派人聯繫我們，希望我們能改名字，並且把這個名字歸還給 Amazon 來使用。

<p>
站在 LifeType 專案的角度上，我們很感謝 Amazon 是用創造雙贏的方式來與我們溝通。一般的公司大概就是直接告我們違反了他的商標權吧。
這也是為什麼 pLog 會順利改名為 LifeType 的原因了。
